Dance is music made visible. It is a form of expression that does not require words to communicate messages. In the classroom it can used to learn curriculum, relieve stress, and promote physical activity. Creative dance movements provide students with an opportunity to express themselves and interpret dance in their own style.
An important developmental ability for children is crossing the midline. This means being able to cross the middle of the body with one's arms and legs to the opposite side. It is a good indicator of physical development and learning capability. Dance can assist crossing the midline by encouraging bilateral coordination. All in all dance gets students’ blood pumping and encourages students to move to learn! https://www.edweek.org/media/2010/11/15/12dance_story1.jpg |
